Officer Reports
Baron and Baroness
• Baron
Alexander asked for Lady Bekea’s hand in marriage at Masque
of Courtly Love. She agreed, and the wedding is being planned.
• Work is ongoing regarding the Baronial encampment at Pennsic.
See Baron Alexander for more details.
• Pennsic plans regarding the fighting and support will be forthcoming.
• The Baron and Baroness had a wonderful time at Masque of Courtly
Love. Thanks to everyone who made the event possible. At the event,
they were given a first year birthday present from Baron Ragnar and
Baroness Brise of Middle Marches. It contained many humorous gifts,
such as sippy cups.
• There is a tabard making project in the works (note: this
has happened, and was a great success)
Exchequer:
• Currently,
there is $1991.31 in the account.
• Bekea would like to change the bank we use. She is leaning
towards U.S. Bank, which has Sunday hours in Giant Eagle. She will
inquire with the present bank the account is in for any early closing
cost penalties. If there are any, she will leave some money in that
account until the penalty time period has passed.
• Pass-the-hat donation from meeting was $22.00.
Pusuivant:
• Katarina
brought copies of the proposed awards which are almost ready to be
sent to Kingdom for approval.
• She will be attending group meetings for signatures of members
of local groups and their officers, which are necessary to mail these
in.
MOAS:
• The tabard
making project is Sunday, 2/27/05 (note: this has occurred).
• She would like a list of any teachers in the Barony and the
classes they offer. Please see your local group MOAS so he/she can
send this information on.
• Please let Debforgail know what classes you are interested
in attending.
• There has been interest in dancing classes. Please let Debforgail
know of any ideas you may have to help implement these.
• Debforgail is working on setting a tentative date to make
blank scrolls for the scroll cases. More details forthcoming.
Knight Marshal
• Not present
Chronicler:
• Sofia
has moved and her new address is in the current Portcullis.
• Winter quarter Portcullis is out to local seneschals, and
will be uploaded to the Baronial website soon.
Chamberlain:
• Thanked
those who retained at Masque, especially Mathilda and Colum.
• If you are interested in retaining for Their Excellencies,
please let her know. Retainers are usually assigned before an event,
so let her know your availability.
• Retainers come from all over the Barony, thank you to all
who have worked so hard.
Group Reports
• Alderford:
• Masque
was a great success, thanks to all who helped.
• There are a lot of demos coming up for the summer library
program.
• Gwyntarian:
• A lot
of demo requests are coming in for the library demos as well.
• Thank you to Alderford for a great event. The folks from
Gwyntarian who attended had a great time.
• Curtis authorized at Masque, which is very cool.
• Still looking for a new meeting site, will keep everyone
posted on the progress.
• Thistle:
• Interest
in joining Thistle is up, which is very good news.
• Working on a meeting site, Mageen will post to the email
list when that is set.
• Fighter practices are held twice a month on Mondays from
6-10 PM. Contact Mageen, or see the Thistle website for more information.
• The Byzantine event on May 7 is a go.
• The Merchant event has been tabled at this time.
• Library demo requests are coming in.
• Three
Towers
• Many
classes are being offered at meetings to help the newer members.
An upcoming class is on making chain mail.
• Encampment and Hastings events are being worked on.
• Tabard making project is Sunday, 2/27/05. (Note: this event
occurred).
Old Business:
• Regarding
the molds made for the medallions:
• No prices yet on this project.
• The seneschal of Three Towers, Drina, will bring samples from
the company she works for to the next meeting.
• Dirk and Thistle does this too.
• Brice is looking into the leather coronets for the Baron and
Baroness.
New Business:
• Regional
A&S will be 4/30/05 in Caer Byrbryd.
• Debforgail put forth a proposal for a Baronial Champion event
in September.
• Will be held at the same church Masque is held at.
• The date will be confirmed at the next Baronial meeting.
• An archery marshal will get together with Debforgail to look
at the site and confirm whether archery can be held there.
• Send suggestions or comments to Debforgail or Katarina.
• This event cannot be voted on until the date and other details
are set.
