The Oaken Baronesses tea and the Baronial Open House are planned for Tuesday of War Week. All donations of finger foods will be gratefully accepted. Baron Alexander is now a warranted siege weapons marshal and engineer. He has copies of the latest rules for anyone interested, and is looking for siege weapon crews for Pennsic and any events that allow siege weapons. We were able to present 40 scroll covers and 67 scroll blanks to Their Majesties. They were very pleased and awed by our efforts. Their Excellencies wish to extend a big THANK YOU to all who participated. ExchequerCurrently, there is $2030.31 in the account. Bekea has set up an account at U.S. Bank, and is waiting for a check to be signed from the old account. PusuivantKatarina mailed the new Baronial devices to Kingdom on Monday, 4/11/05. There will be a heraldic round table and consulting at the Northern Oaken Regional A & S Faire. MOASDeb is looking for a place to hold the second session of the tabard making project. The tabards need to be lined and have the star machine-appliqued to the front. She suggested that this be combined with a fighter practice in order to encourage families to participate and asked Mageen if it would be possible to use the Mill for this purpose. A tentative date of May 1st (Sunday) was suggested. Mageen will check on availability. She has located a possible site for dance classes in Wadsworth for a cost of $15/hour, unless we have a member who lives in Wadsworth, in which case it only costs $5/hour. The classes could start as soon as Thursday, May 5th. There has been interest
in having a Baronial sewing day for garb. It was suggested that that be
combined with the tabard making day, but most thought that would be too
much to schedule for one day. Deb will look for a site and time for that.

Old BusinessDeb reported that she is continuing to work with the city of North Canton about having archery at the Baronial championships. Everything else is on hold until that time, although she will take volunteers for anything. She also proposed the name of the event to be "A Festive Day/Brendoken Baronial Championships". Arwenna suggested calling it "Brendokenfest". There was immediate enthusiasm from all present for this name. New BusinessSince there are many, many demos throughout the Barony, it was determined that a Baronial demo coordinator would be useful. Baroness Catriona volunteered to do this. Her Excellency also suggested that the Barony needs a Baronial Historian. All agreed and Brice will make up an ad for the Portcullis. Beckea has set up an archery range at her house and invites all to come shoot. Arwenna suggested that any group considering hosting next year's Regional A&S Faire should start planning now to submit a bid in November or December. She would like to see it move back to the east side of the state. Justin announced that several e-lists currently hosted on his domain at 4th.com will be moving to brendoken.org. An announcement will be made when it happens and a redirect will be in place for about a month so folks will have time to change their address books. Otherwise, everything will stay the same. Justin also indicated that either he or Amanda could update the Brendoken website if anyone has information that needs to be posted. There being no further business, the meeting concluded at 3:55 PM. |
