Minutes for April 30,2006
1.MoAS:
Lord Robert reminded local groups' MoASs to send their reports into him
ASAP. They are due May 1, 2006
2. Exchequer:
Lady Bekea reported that the barony had $2,057.37. Expenses for site rentals
are going up, she is happier with the cushion. 17¢ was designated
to go to the Royal Travel Fund from refunded money from RUM. So as to
not appear chintzy, Lady Arwena came up with the idea to have citizens
of the barony match the 17¢. Several people did so at that time.
Lady Bekea will collect the money. Our goal is to collect at least $25.
3. Knights Marshal:
Lord Brice introduced Lord Magnus as the barony's new acting Knights Marshal.
Lord Magnus hopes to have monthly fighter practices.
4. Web Minister:
Zaliha bint Kizilik (MKA Suzanne Irwin): Updated links as they have been
sent to her and will archive the RUM web pages. Discussed use of photos
and permission to use such which led to a discussed on permission documentation.
Asked for updates to the letters on the web site from the seneschal and
B&B
5. Seneschal:
Lord Brice introduced Kilij Kiyan (MKA Kelly Irwin) as his deputy. Kilij
will be recommended by Lord Brice to replace him as seneschal. Lord Brice
will step down from office at the Brendokenfest event in September 2006.
6. Baron:
He hopes to have a core of fighters as a baronial unit to fight at Pennsic
and other events. There will be melee practice/training at various events
during the summer. MemorialDay weekend, come to his house to work on shields
and siege weapons to take to Pennsic. Baronial encampment at War: June
15th is last day to prereg online. The Baron would like information by
June 8th and requests that everyone remember to add room for ropes in
your dimension information. We will be camping in the same general area
and the numbers look to be about the same from last year. There was a
discussion of siege weapon authorization.
7. Baroness:
Report on RUM with a huge thanks to Thistle, Alderford, Justin and his
Logistics crew, Ceit and Ursula at the Lunch Tavern, Lady Debforgail for
donating all the food, and Lady Jane of Gwyntarian for her help with the
drawing, plus everyone else who helped make this a very well run event.
Sir Garth said that this was one of the best run RUMs. All they had to
do was come in and put up signs. Most of the glitches were not under our
control to fix, however, next time we would do something different for
feast than to do it at a restaurant. The event made $176.82. The Lunch
Tavern cleared $400. The drawing brought in $277. The grand total profit
was $853.82.
8. Old Business
East Watch needs Archery marshals for their event on May 6.
Baronial Championships:
Zaliha bint Kizilik and Kilij Kiyan are the co-autocrats and they are
still looking at September for the date but need suggestions for site.
They also requested a volunteer for feastocrat?
9. New Business:
Lady Szof presented a proposal that the barony host Bardic Madness on
November 11, 2006 at the Smithville Methodist Church.
This event would be run like RUM- host provide facility, Bardic Madness
does the activities. Lady Sarra Bossard to be the feastocrat/ 80 at feast,
not including high table. The budget based on attendance of 100 people.
There was a discussion on site fees, Lady Szof agreed to amend the site
fees to Adults prereg: $7/At door: $8. Total gross income after amended
pricing: $1670. Total anticipated expenses: $1300. Total projected income:
$370. Baroness Catriona moved that the amended proposal be accepted, Lord
Kilij Kiyan seconded it. The motion was carried.
May 21, 2006 will be the Baronial Social meeting at Lady Mageen home as
part of the Marche of the Thistle's Summer Picnic. Included will be a
Swap and Trade of Books and Goods. Details to be announced on the Atrium.
There will be a meeting on June 25, 2006, at the Smithville Mill. 2-4
Pm will be fighter practice, 4-6 will be the meeting. The August meeting
will be the Baronial Revel at Pennsic.
f. The September meeting will take place during Brendokenfest.
