Greetings are sent to the good gentles of Brendoken,

The cold winds of winter have started to blow and the heat, rain, and tribulations of Pennsic are just a memory. However, the barony is already planning to host two spring events. The Hafla from last year was so popular that people were asking on the day of the event when the next one was going to be held. Well, that date is is not fixed on March 29, 2008. Lord Kilij has arranged to hold the event at the Tadmor Shrine Center in Akron, OH. The decor is very Middle Eastern and will enhance the theme of the event.

We appreciate the populace understanding the decision to postpone the Baronial Championships. They will be held on April 12. 2008, at the Tuscarawas County  Fairgrounds, Dover, OH. Besides the championships, there will be tournaments, classes and other activities for those outside the barony to enjoy. The most exciting news about the event is that there will be equestrian activities and possibly an equestrian champion.

The next baronial meeting on Dec 2  will be a revel to usher in the holiday season. There will be a cookie exchange and lots of  congenial conversation. We hope to see many citizens of Brendoken there.

The grand procession of the baronial tabards has been making its way through the local groups. The March of the Thistle was able to iron out about 36 yards of cloth and cut it so that we will make eight tabards rather than six. The Marche of Three Towers finished the cutting and sewed the parti-colored fronts and backs together. By the time the tabards visit the Marche of Gwyntarian and the Marche of Alderford, they will be finished and ready to be worn. Thank you all for your help.

If it is possible, We hope to have office hours at the upcoming event in the Marche of Gwyntarian, The Road to Frankfurt. We look forward to seeing you there.

Yours in Service,
Alexander and Catriona
Baron and Baroness Brendoken
