Rose Tourney is always sponsored by a former Consort of the Middle Kingdom. All former consorts, both MK and other kingdoms are welcome. This tournament is unique in that the Ladies sponsor the day, which focuses on the chivalry and romance of the Middle Ages.

Each consort chooses a team of combatants for the day: one knoght, three unbelted fighters, and two rapier fighters. The teams fight in various formats throughout the day. Although some Consorts pick their combat teams
in advance, MANY prefer to observe the "meet and beat" open lists during the morning of the tournament, and create their teams on site.

Combatants are encouraged to bring heraldry, and a herald, if so desired, as tourney teams will be presented formally to the Crown, Consorts and populace. The team with the best boast will win a prize from the Consorts.

Throughout the day: Matthew Christopher will be sitting a portion of his laurel vigil, and invites the Ladies of the Rose, most especially, to join him.

If court ends early enough, look for some impromptu dancing. Please remember, we DO need to have the site cleared, except for cleanup crew members by 8PM. The site has services early in the morning. If you're on site after 8PM, thanks for joining the clean up crew! Your help is appreciated.
