Society Demo Policy

Fiber Arts Demo

A demo for the fiber folks!

Come help us demo all the fiber-related stuff at the ‘Textile Arts and Artisans’ display and demonstration area at Stan Hywet (714 N Portage Path, Akron, 44303), during Ohio Mart.
Dates are October 1 through 4, from 10 am to 5 pm Thursday through Saturday, and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.
Bring a small project to work on if you’d like - embroidery, drop spinning, nalbinding, knitting, kumihimo, sewing, &c.  We will have tables with numerous display and demonstration items already there.
There is limited room for larger stuff like a table loom, so if you’d like to demo with something too large to easily carry, contact Finna to coordinate bringing it on the setup day before the demo.
Volunteers have a dedicated parking lot with shuttle to Stan Hywet. Demo area is inside, climate-controlled, has restroom, and is accessible (but a bit of a walk).  Light lunch and snacks provided. Nice demo with lots of people coming through.
Volunteers are asked to dress in garb. Volunteering includes admission to Ohio Mart, which you are free to explore before or after your shift.
For any questions or to sign up to volunteer, please contact Finna at sheepfarm@weaversguild.org
Thank you!

Archery Practice

There will be an archery practice tbd. Loaner equipment will be available for those wishing to try out archery, thanks to the generosity of Forester Offria. If anyone has spare targets to share, that would be greatly appreciated. I have one target and the necessary score sheets needed.
